As a long term fun of The Legend of Heroes serie i would say this: this is awesome! this is a huge step forward totally recommed for all TLOH fans out there disclaimer about language: I'm using English translation patch + Japanese OCR Toolkit (for non-main NPCs). So far this is enough to cover almost all dialogues and texts in the game (even though I'm not fluid at english) so, without any spoilers, main pros of this part: 1. Battle system: a huge overhaul of what we know about TLOH battle system. Looks much more alive and dynamic. It sucesfully combines turn-based and real-time combat. I really like the new way for moving characters in turn-based. It was pretty useless in previous games (as it took the whole turn to move someone a few tiles). But now, you can move position your characters as you like. And it feels awesome. 2. Graphics: Tokyo Xanadu inspired, looks a bit unusual at the beginning, but great overall. Huge + for characters and NPCs design 3, Plot: enjoing it so far, looks promising. It feels nice and unusual to play mature character with some strong belifs, not just a kid in a constant strugle of finding him/herself. 4. Music: there are some great tracks. There are some AWESOME tracks. and some cons, but they might look like a spoiler (if you didn't see a trailer or this HUGE banner on the main page in steam :) )
For me the biggest issue here is the few characters in the beginning. Ok, I really enjoin main character. As for a few others, we do have: 1. yet another Fie inspired character 2. yet another Randy insiper character 3. yet another Alisa + Eliot (for crafts) inspired character and i didn't see any strong lines for them yet. Yeah, they are charismatic. But not so sure yet in terms of plot.
