FOUR NEW OPTIONAL SCENARIOS, four new victories! Do you crave a challenge beyond what you've faced before? Something you're simply not capable of beating, but only narrowly escaping? Try these: Point of No Return, The Blight, The Banker Breakdown, and Nanopocalypse Now!
Is Approaching Infinity too easy? Are you tired of having all the time in the world to do whatever you want? Do you long to be chased by the Rebels in FTL? Do you want to race against time to save (or just survive) a universe that's falling down around you? Well have I got a DLC for you!
Approaching Infinity: Galactic Disasters offers 4 challenging new optional scenarios, each with its own victory:
You can only visit each sector once, there's no going back. Do what you can, while you can and move on. There's even an almost-impossible-to-achieve new unique ending...
This is not a disease as you know it. It's bigger. The Blight infests entire planets, turning them into massive "eggs", releasing more blight, infecting more planets, creating more eggs, releasing more blight... leaving the galaxy empty.
How many will die? Is there a cure?
You've started the Nanopocalypse, maybe even defeated it. But what if you didn't?
What if it already happened, and no one stopped it? This. This is what would happen. The imminent, unstoppable threat of the Nanopocalypse. But there is hope, if you can call it that:
A loose coalition of alien races has joined together in common defense to form an evacuation fleet. If you can catch up to them, you'll have at least the semblance of safety (and a new victory!)
Whether you know it or not, the Bankers have been on a slow steady decline for centuries. Finally, their crisis point arrives. Their insanity peaks, hostility unleashed.
The Bankers are no longer content with quietly amassing resources. They're going on the offensive. But not in a coordinated, goal-oriented way. In a kill-em-all-and-let-the-Firax-sort-em-out-later way.
These are all optional scenarios, only taking effect if chosen at game start. You can still play a "normal" game!
These options won't be available to new players until you've reached sector 3 in a normal game.
This does not require any other DLC. None of them do. They are all compatible in any combination.
It does require version 2.2.0g or later of Approaching Infinity (the base game).
